Our Goals
Currently, YWAM Otaru is a newly established pioneering base. Our goal as a base is to build into fostering running training programs and discipleship schools. Our heart is to build up Jesus’ body together, to equip his disciples with God’s word. Bible Study
A regular community bible study, allowing us to growing a greater understanding of God’s word and His plan for individuals and the world and ultimately leading to a deeper relationship with God, one another, and a stronger, more faithful christian walk.
Discipleship Training School (DTS)
The Discipleship Training School (YWAM DTS) is a course offered by University Of The Nations, designed to help you cultivate a more intimate relationship with God and understand your role in His story. The Discipleship Training School gives you an opportunity to discover your passions and your part in God’s purposes for the world. It is for those who long to follow Jesus in new ways with a different perspective, blending classroom learning, small group activities, personal reflection, practical service, and community living into a 5-6 month program.
Discipleship Bible School (DBS)
The Discipleship Bible School, or DBS, is a three-month program for those who want build a stronger foundation in the word of God. Students will discover the bigger picture within the Bible narrative through “God’s Story”, a redemptive story of how God has continually bought man back into right relationship with Him . Student’s will read the entire bible, observe the chronology of biblical events, gain understanding on historical context, and discover the underlying themes within the 66 books. Through this process, students will learn foundational truths by going directly to the source, approaching the bible are a complete whole from beginning to end and learn how it apply it to their lives.
School of Biblical Studies (SBS)
The School of Biblical Studies, or SBS, is a nine-month program for those who want to deepen their understanding of the Bible. The SBS is similar to the DBS, however, it goes much deeper. Students will learn how to discover and apply truths from God’s Word to our present-day society as they read through the Bible at least five times and study each book in its historical context. Using the inductive Bible study method they will learn how to observe, interpret, and find applications for their own lives.

Our Needs
Prayer:
We ask that you cover our base in prayer as we build and pioneer the foundations of YWAM Otaru. We are growing everyday, but continue to pray that we can shine the light of Jesus in this community, and open the door for people to encounter Jesus.
Location:
Currently we are partnering with another ministry located in Otaru - through this partnership God has provided a house for us to host events, and outreach teams in this season. Long-term, we will need a space to host students, staff, schools, and classes. Pray that God would provide a base and a space for us as we build into these ministries.
Staff:
We are seeking full-time staff to come join us in our vision, and build into the goals that God has placed in our hearts. In order to run training and schools, we need people that have a passion and heart for training, as well as a calling to serve in Japan.
